Victoria Libertore is the guest judge and guest artist performer for the peep show-themed April round of xyz nyc. Libertore, a noted solo performance and burlesque artist, will give lively feedback and conduct informal interviews with each choreographer. VICTORIA LIBERTORE is the creator of six solo shows: Camille: The Forgotten Artist, stalk(her), The Should Dream, My Journey of Decay, GIRL MEAT, and No Need for Seduction. In her work, she’s collaborated with Leigh Fondakowski, Rosalie Purvis, Jen-Scott Mobley, Shelley Butler-Hyler, Ryan Migge, Rebecca Feldman, Kimberly I. Kefgen, and Sara Laudonia. She has performed in venues such as Carolines on Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam, Dixon Place, Joyce Soho, and PS122 as well as in Boston, Montreal, Philadelphia, Provincetown, Toronto, and Washington, D.C. Libertore emcees throughout NYC as her incomparable, faux Liza Minnelli where she utilizes her improvisational skills to make “people laugh so hard that their faces hurt.” Her short plays include A Man with a Limp, How Crazy Joe Met His Wife, and Monster and Lola (Humana Festival Finalist). Libertore is passionate about encouraging other artists to create their own work, and she has curated and produced dozens of local and a few international artists with backgrounds in performance, variety arts, music, storytelling, comedy and dance. Libertore teaches performance workshops incorporating her original archetypal energy work. She was a 2008 - 2010 Brooklyn Arts Exchange Theater Artist in Residence and she has a BFA in theatre from Otterbein College where she recently taught a New Performance Workshop. Currently, she is working on a screenplay with Ryan Kipp based on the life of the world’s most infamous, female serial killer. She is collaborating with Ryan Kipp and Jennifer Tuttle on We Must Work which will be presented in New Dance Alliance’s June 2014 Performance Mix. www.howlingvic.com
